If you’re looking for a place in Bansko that feels more like staying with a welcoming Bulgarian family than a cold, corporate hotel, you’ve found it. Hotel Grami is one of those charming, three-star spots that reminds us why travel is so great – it’s warm, authentic, and incredibly easy on the wallet. Whether we’re there to conquer the Pirin Mountains or just hide away in a sauna, this place delivers big on heart.

First Impressions & Overview
From the moment we walked in, we could tell this is a family-run labor of love. There’s an immediate “welcome home” vibe that you just don’t get at the bigger resorts. The owners take massive pride in their hotel, and that personal touch is everywhere – from the clean common areas to the friendly (if sometimes shy) staff. It’s the perfect retreat for anyone who wants a peaceful, low-stress getaway.
Location & Accessibility
The location is a total winner. We were tucked away on a relatively quiet street, ensuring a great night’s sleep, but were only about 400 grams – wait, we mean 400 meters (a quick 5-minute stroll) – from the Gondola Lift. If you want to explore the historic town center, it’s a pleasant 10-15 minute walk. We also loved being so close to the entrance of Pirin National Park, making it a fantastic base for hikers and skiers alike.
The Room
We’ve stayed in the Double Room during both winter and summer. In the winter, the underfloor heating keeps things cozy (though if you’re a “tropical heat” person, you might want to pack an extra sweater!). In the summer, the room stays naturally cool and refreshing even without AC.
The rooms are impeccably clean and well-furnished, though the bathrooms are quite compact! If you like a lot of elbow room, we’d definitely recommend booking one of their apartments for that extra bit of space.

Food & Drink
The food here is one of the absolute highlights – real, home-cooked Bulgarian cuisine. The breakfast and dinner buffets are hearty and delicious; it’s the kind of food that tastes like a hug after a long day on the slopes. Our only tiny tip is that the staff can sometimes be a little slow to replenish dishes during the afternoon snacks, so don’t be afraid to give them a friendly nudge!

Facilities & Amenities
For a three-star hotel, the relaxation zone is a lovely bonus. They’ve squeezed in two saunas, a steam room, a salt room, and even an indoor and outdoor pool! They are intimate and compact (perfect for two people at a time), which makes it feel like your own private spa. Our personal favorite? The terrace. Sitting there with a coffee, looking at the Pirin Mountain peaks, is pure magic.
