If you are looking for a reliable spot in the “Spa Capital of the Balkans” where the water is warm and the food is plentiful, Spa Hotel Olymp is a solid choice. We recently revisited this hotel to see how it’s changed, and we’re happy to report that it still delivers that classic Velingrad hospitality we all know and love!

First Impressions & Overview
Walking back into Spa Hotel Olymp felt like visiting an old friend. The vibe is welcoming and professional, and it’s clear they’ve been busy making improvements. We noticed that they’ve renovated a good portion of the rooms, giving the place a fresher, more updated feel. It’s busy but organized, making it a great pick for a stress-free weekend.
Location & Accessibility
The hotel is located in the Chepino district, which is famous for its healing mineral springs. It’s easy to find and puts you right in the mix of Velingrad’s lush scenery. Whether you want to take a walk to the nearby Kleptuza Lake or just enjoy the mountain air, the location is super convenient for a relaxing stroll.
The Room
We stayed in a Budget Double Room that had recently been renovated. The hotel chose to expand the interior space by incorporating the terrace into the room. While the extra indoor space is nice, it does mean there’s no outdoor balcony.
The room was clean and comfortable, but we did find a few “quirks” in the new bathroom design. The door doesn’t seal quite tightly, and since there’s no exhaust fan, steam tends to wander into the bedroom.
Travelinita Tip: Since there’s no balcony or heated towel rail, it can be a bit tricky to dry your swimsuit after the pool. We’d love to see them add a drying rack or a bathroom heater soon to make things perfect!

Food & Drink
The dining experience here is definitely a highlight! We were really impressed by the variety on offer. The food is fresh, tasty, and there are plenty of options to keep everyone in the family happy. Whether it’s breakfast or dinner, you won’t leave the table hungry.

Facilities & Amenities
The Spa zone is where the magic happens. The mineral water in the pool is crystal clear and wonderfully warm – exactly what you want for a soak. For parents, this place is a dream because they have dedicated animators and a great kids’ corner, so the little ones stay entertained while you enjoy some quiet time in the sauna.
