First Impressions & Overview
If you’re looking to swap the city noise for crisp mountain air and the scent of pine, Hotel Moreni is such a gem. Tucked away in the Aleko area of Vitosha, it feels like a proper escape. From the moment we arrived, the vibe was super chill and welcoming. Whether you’re here to hike or just to lounge with a view, the setting alone is enough to make you exhale all your stress.
Location & Accessibility
You really can’t beat being right in the heart of Vitosha Nature Park. It’s the perfect base for exploring the trails or enjoying the snow in winter. Getting there is a breeze, and once you’re up there, you’re surrounded by nothing but nature. It’s walkable in the sense that the trails start practically at your doorstep, though you’ll want your car to get up the mountain initially!
The Room
We stayed in a Double Room, and honestly, it was lovely and well-designed. The highlight for me was the wonderful terrace – perfect for a morning coffee while taking in the fresh air. The room was very clean, though we did spot a small stray stain on the decorative bed throw (nothing a quick toss aside couldn’t fix!).

Now, for a funny little quirk: there’s a window in the bathroom that looks directly into the bedroom. It has a blind for privacy, of course, but there are tiny gaps. My partner and I had a good laugh about it, but it’s definitely something to keep in mind if you’re traveling with someone you aren’t that close with yet!
Food & Drink
The restaurant experience was a bit of a mixed bag, but mostly positive. The menu is on the smaller side, but the dishes we had were beautifully cooked and delicious. Prices are a bit above average, so keep that in mind for your budget.
We did have one “interesting” moment when we asked for tea in the evening. The server told us, “We won’t get along with this tea,” simply because the tea station was on a different floor and they didn’t want to make the trip! It was a bit of a blunt comment, but another staff member (who might have been the owner) was incredibly kind and helpful, which totally saved the atmosphere.

Facilities & Amenities
The hotel features a nice SPA zone, which is perfect after a day of hiking. Just a heads-up: it operates by prior request only, so make sure you call down and book your slot ahead of time so you don’t miss out on the sauna or steam room!
