First Impressions & Overview
Walking into the hotel, you immediately get that “family-run” vibe – it’s unpretentious and welcoming. The check-in process is straightforward (just make sure you arrive between 14:00 and 22:00!), and there’s a sense of quiet calm that makes it easy to switch into vacation mode. It’s a great home base for exploring the local thermal springs.
Location & Accessibility
The location is easily one of the best parts of staying here. We found it incredibly close to the city center, which means you can ditch the car and wander through Kyustendil’s charming streets on foot. Whether you’re headed to the Roman baths or looking for a local bistro, everything feels like it’s just a short stroll away.
If you’re up for a bit of history and a view, you shouldn’t miss Hisarlaka. It is a Late Antiquity and Medieval fortress located on the highest flat part of the Hisarlaka Hill, rising about 2 km southeast of Kyustendil. It’s a great spot to soak in the local heritage while stretching your legs!

The Room
We stayed in the King Room with Balcony, and honestly, it exceeded our expectations for a budget stay. The room was clean, spacious, and felt very cozy. Having that balcony is a huge plus for morning air or a glass of wine in the evening. For the price point, the quality of the room is excellent – you really feel like you’re getting great value for your money.

Food & Drink
The hotel doesn’t serve breakfast or have an on-site restaurant, but we found a great solution. Since there is no dining on the premises, we highly recommend checking out Friends Bar & Grill. It’s a fantastic spot to grab a meal since the hotel doesn’t provide one. Also, while there isn’t a coffee machine in the room, we were happy to find one available in the lobby to get the day started.

Facilities & Amenities
There is a small outdoor pool on-site, which looks like a lovely spot for a dip in the warmer months; however, we didn’t use it during our stay because of the winter season. Aside from that, the Wi-Fi is reliable and the overall atmosphere is peaceful – exactly what we needed to recharge.
