This is a 4K walking tour of Asprovalta, one of the most popular beach resorts in Northern Greece. It sits on the Strymonian Gulf, about 80 km east of Thessaloniki, and its sandy Blue Flag beach stretches for more than 10 kilometers.
Asprovalta is a summer favorite for tourists from across the Balkans, especially Bulgaria, Serbia, North Macedonia, and Romania. They drive down for the easy beaches, affordable prices, and a long seafront promenade packed with taverns, cafes, and shops.
We filmed this walk in the evening, and the town was buzzing. There was a street wine tasting, live Greek music and dancing in front of the restaurants, street performers, a quick rain break inside a gelateria, and children in traditional costumes getting ready for a local event.
